TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now)- Two women were arrested and accused of smuggling drugs in buckets of chicken.

The women were passengers on a shuttle van, which was stopped at the Border Patrol checkpoint on Interstate 19.

Border Patrol agents discovered six bags of methamphetamine hidden in two buckets of chicken.

The drugs weighed nearly six pounds and were valued at $58,700.

Nine Sahuarita HS wrestlers arrested in assault

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now)- Nine Sahuarita High School students have been arrested in connection with an alleged assault of another student.

According to Sahuarita Police Department, the incident happened Tuesday evening in the school's locker room at 350 W. Sahuarita Road. A group of students was observed forcing another student to the ground and physically assaulting him, police say.

The nine offenders, all members of the Sahuarita wrestling team, were each charged with one count of aggravated assault and one count of kidnapping.

The victim, who is not a member of the wresting team, and six of the students charged are juveniles.

Also charged were Andres Vasquez, 18, of Amado; Jorge Loya-Lopez, 18, of Sahuarita; and Marcus Stitts, 18, of Sahuarita.

Police say the investigation is continuing, but so far they believe the incident is either a case of bullying or hazing.
