Green Valley home escapes further damage due to sprinkler system | Home & Garden

A home in Green Valley was saved from extensive fire damage by a residential sprinkler system. 

Green Valley Fire Department responded to a call of a house fire on the 2800 block of east Greenside Place, just before 8 p.m, last night.  When crews arrived on scene the garage had flames and smoke coming from it.

Fire crews were able to extinguish the fire in the garage in less than 10 minutes, and then advanced into the actual residence to see where the fire spread; only to find a sprinkler system in the house had already put out the fire. 

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation and damages are estimated at $30,000.
